* 5-6 week clean outs for 100 cow herd at £175 each time on a loader plus two tractors and trailers at approx.£12/hr each for half a day. There will be 40-50t of straw plus manure / urine produced. Assuming this is done 5 times over the winter, a total cost of £875 or £10 per head is not unreasonable, even where farm labour is used. Comparing that to one clean out at the end of the winter a saving of £500 could be expected - nearly the cost of the Imtec !
